Terms of Service
1. The service
ASCII.gg converts images, GIFs, webcam video and text into ASCII art in your browser. When available, optional AI generation sends your written prompt to an image provider, then converts the generated image into ASCII on our server. Its current availability and any included trial or Pro allowance are shown on the pricing page. By using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email secure. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. Pro subscription
- Billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout and on the pricing page.
- Cancel anytime from the billing portal — Pro stays active until the end of the paid period, then your account returns to the free tier. See the refund policy.
- We may change pricing with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
- When AI generation is available, published usage limits are measured by UTC calendar day and month. Provider capacity or safety controls may temporarily limit access. Unused monthly generations do not roll over.
4. Your content
- Media you choose for ordinary conversion stays in your browser and remains yours. AI prompts and finished ASCII results are processed as described in our privacy policy. We claim no ownership of your creative input or output.
- Artwork you publish to the Library remains yours. By publishing you grant ASCII.gg a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display and distribute that artwork as part of the public gallery (including link previews on other platforms).
- You can delete your published artwork at any time, which ends that license for future display.
- Only publish what you have the right to publish. You are responsible for the content you share.
5. Acceptable use
Don't publish unlawful content, hate, harassment, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, or malware; don't abuse, overload, scrape at scale, or attempt to break the service or other users' accounts; don't misrepresent authorship. We may remove content and suspend accounts that cross these lines, and we respond to legitimate takedown (DMCA) requests sent to [email protected].
6. Availability & changes
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. We work to keep it fast and available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may add, change or retire features.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ASCII.gg's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
